YOUR people are the focus of the Briefing Initiative

Inform your decision makers about humaneering's improvement potential

Ensure that your operation's executives, managers and improvement pros understand the improvement opportunities and market threats introduced with humaneering's beta release

"While it's clear that humaneering adds new potential for productivity improvement, it seems equally clear . . . if companies are to seize this potential . . . that humaneering will add a new competency requirement to the role of operations manager."
- APICS conference participant

How does the Briefing Initiative work?

This service consists of a 1-day series of on-site events — presentations, informal talks, small-group discussions, and one-on-one conversations — with one of our licensed humaneering professionals. You plan the day with your preferred mix of events, and retain the flexibility to make just-in-time changes to maximize learning, convenience and cost-effectiveness for your operations executives, managers, and improvement pros.

Expect a day of straight talk, with no hype and no sales pitch. Our professional will have prepared briefings that address humaneering from the strategy, operations and application perspectives (10, 20 and 40 min), each with a handout deck you can reproduce for participants. These prepared remarks are typically just the beginning to a dialogue that naturally follows the interests of the participants.

This service includes 3 months of unlimited email and phone Continuing Assistance.

Who will provide this service?

One of our Humaneering Institute IP-licensed professionals will provide this service. This person will have substantial expertise with humaneering's application, plus broad overall experience improving people-dependent operations.

Because only a few people are now authorized by the nonprofit Humaneering Institute to discuss humaneering publically (without requiring a strict non-disclosure agreement), the availability of these individuals is limited and so scheduling well ahead is encouraged.

What do you need from us?

To ensure an effective Briefing Initiative, the following client support is very helpful:

  • Arrange into the schedule suitable events for the operations executives, managers, and improvement pros that will benefit most from learning about humaneering and its potential for improving people-dependent operations. Fill out the day with opportunities for others with relevant interest.

  • When planning the venue for each event, first consider the participants and their learning needs, as well as your organization's culture. Our professionals can work in whatever situation is best for your organization.

  • Arrange for a projector, microphone, white board, flip chart or other presentation equipment and materials as required (participants, group size, type of dialogue).

  • Reproduce handouts as needed for participants from the prepared-briefing PowerPoint slides we send you.

Will we need to disclose our operations?

No. The Briefing Initiative's objective is to inform your organization about humaneering and its operations-improvement potential, and this does not require our direct exposure to your operations. If you want our assessment of your improvement opportunities based on a review of your operations, please consider our Discovery Initiative.

What results can we anticipate?

  • Participants will have consistent knowledge and diverse perspectives regarding humaneering's operations-improvement potential, and this is an excellent starting point for evaluation of any new technology

  • Suggestions from participants will identify potential applications, such as process performance that can be increased, persistent people problems that can be resolved, and operations that can be made easier to manage

  • Participant knowledge and perspective will be sufficient to consider the cost/benefit of learning more about humaneering-based work design, and possibly even sufficient to consider a text of humaneering in your operation

What risk is involved?

DesignedWORK was selected by the nonprofit Humaneering Institute to be its exclusive provider of humaneering (beta) technology transfer and commercialization support to organizations. For this purpose we developed a program of application support services that minimize risk to encourage and enable organizations to learn about, experiment with, and capitalize on humaneering. For example, our service features include:

  • Fixed-cost agreements include all travel and other project-related expenses (no risk of runaway fees and expenses)

  • Guaranteed satisfaction - Client satisfaction is assured for all services, so our work is not done until you are fully satisfied (no downside financial risk)

  • Strict confidentiality extends beyond your NDA to our science-based protocol of not ever disclosing client names—not even for references—or anything about their operations, including their humaneering solutions (no risk to trade secrets or dilution of first-mover competitive advantage)

  • Generative presence results from a work style that is collaborative (not exclusive), supportive (not critical), measurement-guided (not opinionated), and resourceful (not dependent), thereby generating trust and cooperation (minimizing aversion to consultants and push-back from organization members)

What if we have more questions?

Alternatively, we invite you to send your questions at any time to our Client Services team, who will respond within 72 hours, 24/7/365.
